Professor Georgios Psychogios is a specialized Neck Surgeon with extensive experience in Thyroid Surgery (thyroidectomy) and Parathyroid Glands. He has trained and worked for 15 years in University Clinics in Germany. He was trained with a special scholarship in Thyroid Gland Surgery at the University Clinic in Prague, and since 2012 he has been Head of the Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery Department, initially of the ENT clinic in Erlangen and then of the clinic in Augsburg where he was also deputy director.
With his election to the position of full professor of Otolaryngology in Ioannina and his return to Greece in 2019, he created the Model Center for Head and Neck Gland Surgery and became the first Surgeon in the city of Ioannina to incorporate the Use of Neuromonitoring/ Neurostimulation in Thyroid Surgery since 2019. In addition, he introduced the use of the Parathyroid Gland Camera, which just became available in Greece in 2021. He uses optical magnification with Surgical Loupes in all procedures. Due to his particular involvement in the surgery of all cervical tumors, he has very extensive experience in central and lateral lymph node dissection. Finally, he has participated as an instructor in many seminars and conferences both in Greece and abroad..
