The entire procedure is performed\u00a0<strong>intraorally, without incisions in the skin<\/strong>.<\/p><h5>When is it appropriate?<\/h5><h6>Salivary endoscopy is mainly indicated when there are:<\/h6><ul><li><strong>Recurrent inflammation<\/strong> of the salivary glands (sialadenitis)<\/li><li><strong>Pain or bloating when eating<\/strong>, an indication of a possible blockage<\/li><li><strong>Salivary stones<\/strong>,(\u03a3\u03b9\u03b1\u03bb\u03bf\u03bb\u03b9\u03b8\u03af\u03b1\u03c3\u03b7) \u03c0\u03bf\u03c5 \u03b5\u03af\u03bd\u03b1\u03b9 \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 \u03b7 \u03c0\u03b9\u03bf \u03c3\u03c5\u03c7\u03bd\u03ae \u03b1\u03b9\u03c4\u03af\u03b1 \u03b1\u03c0\u03cc\u03c6\u03c1\u03b1\u03be\u03b7\u03c2<\/li><li><strong>Narrowing or adhesions<\/strong> in the pores, after old inflammations or infections<\/li><li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/orlpsychogios.gr\/en\/\u03bd\u03b5\u03b1\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae-\u03c5\u03c0\u03bf\u03c4\u03c1\u03bf\u03c0\u03b9\u03ac\u03b6\u03bf\u03c5\u03c3\u03b1-\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03c9\u03c4\u03af\u03c4\u03b9\u03b4\u03b1-juvenile-r\/\">\u039d\u03b5\u03b1\u03bd\u03b9\u03ba\u03ae \u03a5\u03c0\u03bf\u03c4\u03c1\u03bf\u03c0\u03b9\u03ac\u03b6\u03bf\u03c5\u03c3\u03b1 \u03a0\u03b1\u03c1\u03c9\u03c4\u03af\u03c4\u03b9\u03b4\u03b1<\/a><\/strong><\/span>:<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><h5>How is it done?<\/h5><p>The endoscope is inserted through the mouth of the duct into the oral cavity or under local anesthesia. If necessary, the duct is gently dilated or a small incision is made to facilitate access. The doctor examines the anatomy and findings and, if necessary, proceeds immediately to therapeutic intervention. If the stone is larger or has become stuck, it can be combined with minor surgery.<\/p><p><strong> Treatment of strictures:<\/strong> In cases of strictures or adhesions, the area is opened with the help of special tools (such as dilating balloons or small drills), restoring the normal flow of saliva.
